MORE THAN JUST A PARTY
For three years—2020, 2022, and 2023—I had the opportunity to conceptualize, design, and execute Outfront Media’s Mardi Gras parade floats. Each year, the design was based on the official theme of the parade, bringing a unique and vibrant visual experience to the streets of St. Louis.
My process started with developing a concept that aligned with the theme while ensuring it was bold, eye-catching, and cohesive with Outfront’s brand identity. Once the theme was locked in, I worked closely with our operations manager to precisely measure and fit the designs to our custom trailer.
Every inch of the float had to be accounted for—both sides, the back, the upper billboard, and an additional billboard poster attached to the end. A crucial design challenge each year was creatively concealing a port-a-potty on the float while maintaining a seamless and engaging aesthetic.
